So in a couple months 2015 is officially going to be half way done. And luckily there have been a wide variety of films released this year, a lot of them having went through the 2014 film festival circuit. These distributors opted out of the typical awards campaign release and went for an early, mid-year release. But, maybe these gems could make it all the way to awards season? I wouldn’t be surprised especially with the amount of good cinema being released. It Follows stirred up the art-house and mainstream theaters back in March/April, proving to be that rare critically acclaimed horror film. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it on critics (and mine) top 10 lists by the end of the year.

But there are 3 other fantastic independent films released this year that deserve the same recognition – all of them evoking all the great qualities of independent films: ambitious, original, and artful.
